Ministries at St. Peter's

Christian Education

Christian Education encompasses the Sunday School, Adult Education and study groups. Working with the Sunday School superintendent, Christian Ed seeks to increase the knowledge of all parishioners about our faith, the Bible and all aspects of Christianity. Contact Nancy Pertschuk.

Holiday Food & Gift Distribution

At Thanksgiving and Christmas, food baskets are distributed to those in need in the community. Turkeys and non-perishable foods are donated by parishioners of St. Peter’s. The Christmas "Giving Tree" tags provide first names, ages and sizes to those who wish to purchase gifts for families in need and might not have gifts for their children otherwise. Fund Raising

Not only does the Fund Raising ministry raise funds for the ongoing use of the Church, they also spread the word about our family to the community through outreach efforts. Our Annual Bazaar in December is well attended by vendors and the public alike. Events like the Pasta Supper, Bake Sales and other events are met with much success and new members to our parish. Contact Eric Pertschuk.

Hospitality/Fellowship

Hospitality ministry coordinates Social Hour on Sundays, runs social events and gatherings and works to increase the family of St. Peter’s through fellowship and outreach. Provides various programs and social events during the year to build up fellowship and help people get to know each other. They also organize greeters to identify and welcome those who come to St. Peter’s for the first time or return after long absences. They ensure that newcomers meet people, find out about St. Peter’s, inform the rector so he can contact them and generally works to increase the congregation by letting newcomers know they are welcome. They also organize newcomer’s events held at least annually to allow newcomers to meet other members of the congregation in a social setting.

Prayer Chain

Requests for prayers for themselves or others are passed down by phone or e-mail to each member on the prayer chain. Requests may be made by filling out the Pew Request form in the church and placing in the collection plate or by calling the Parish Office. Contact Angie Fatum: apfatum@yahoo.com

Property

The Property ministry takes care of the building and grounds. They plan for the future and ensure that the day to day running of the buildings is sufficient for the ongoing work of the church.

Stewardship

The Stewardship ministry is the foundational committee of the Church. Through Stewardship we get a basis for our budget and the work that we can do through the year to spread the Gospel. Stewardship also works to inform our congregation about long-term planning and memorial gifts. Stewardship is the basis of our Church and our work fulfilling our mission.
